APERIO presents piazzolla’s tango-inspired ‘Four Seasons of buenos aires’ & Philip glass’ breathtaking ‘aguas da amazonia’ in free performance at Miller outdoor theatre.

Aperio, Music of the Americas, presents a reprise performance of Philip Glass’ colorful ‘Aguas da Amazonia’ for chamber orchestra - a piece which the ensemble premiered in Houston to critical acclaim in 2017. Inspired by the Amazon River and its tributaries, the suite explores a vivid mixture of orchestral and percussive textures in Glass’ signature style.

Music from Heitor Villa-Lobos’ ‘Bachianas No. 4’ and Astor Piazzolla’s tango-inspired ‘Four Season of Buenos Aires’ complement this large scale work, featuring internationally acclaimed violin soloist Chloé Trevor. Maestro Marlon Chen (MDR Orchestra Leipzig, Orchestre de Paris) conducts.

PROGRAM:
PHILIP GLASS - “Aguas da Amazonia” for chamber orchestra
ASTOR PIAZZOLLA - “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires” for violin and string orchestra
HEITOR VILLA-LOBOS - “Preludio” from “Bachianas Brasileiras No. 4” for string orchestra

Chloé Trevor, violin | Marlon Chen, conductor
